Monday Artday ATC

Lets Trade!!

Monday Artday ATC

WELCOME... upload your photos/cards by using the photos tab! Then other members can see what artwork you have made

ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards... They are generally hand made and used for trading with fellow artists through the mail. The card size is 2.5x3.5

If you see a card you are interested in, let the creator of the card know and maybe they will be interested in trading for one of your own!

RULES:

1. PLEASE DO NOT upload artwork that is not an atc or other sized art for trade . All ATC trades should be 3.5 x 2.5 cards. They can vary in size from time to time but 99% of the time thats the required size.

2. When you upload artwork that is for trade please put 'Available' somewhere in the title. When your card or artwork is traded please put 'Traded' in the title. This keeps other artist from having to contact you about cards that are no longer available. Try not to dump too many pictures at once, give artist time to view and see what has been posted. Dont post 80 pictures at once. Try to stretch them out. If your hand drawing those anyway, it would be difficult to post so many in a 24 hour period. Dont make this your personal portfolio, this is not a place to show large paintings, craft works, other media that is not related to ATC.

3. All cards most of the time need to be drawn by hand or graphically illustrated. Most of the artist on here are illustrators, cartoonists, painters, graphic artist or doodlers. Most will put a lot of time and effort into each and every card. With that said its probably not a good idea to use a lot of scrapbook clip art, stickers and printed media as the sole basis of the card. Every ATC traded must be an original piece by the artist trading. Once you created a card place it in a protective sleeve before sending to the artist. This protects the card from damage.

4) Trades should be mutually agreed upon - if a trade is refused there should be no hard feelings.

5) All trades must be followed through to the satisfaction of each party.

A whole lot of tomatoes

I was married to my son's father at the time and we had just bought a house out in the country and when I say way out in the country I mean WAY out... county roads... nearest gas station 5 miles.... closest neighbor is about 1/2 mile away. After a really long cold winter we were excited to get some time outdoors and to plant a garden. I don't know what was on our minds but we bought about 15 tomatoe plants expecting maybe a few to be fruitful. They were all fruitful , so fruitful in fact that w… Continue

The pleasentness of uneventful

Beside the cat's death and my daughter who I think, finally may have a job, my life today was uneventful. No outlandish or unprepared moments to stress over. Just the soft scamperings of kittens as I lay in bed and watch the morning transend into afternoon. It wasn't long before I was bored. Yep.... real bored to the point where I went back to sleep for another 4 hours and woke just in time to deal with my son and his friends celebrating 420. I myself celebrate 4:00 NAP TIME , no one has heard o… Continue

All about Miss Kitty

She got the nick name Evil Kitty because she stole our food off our plates and knocked things over. But really she was a wonderful girl who after a crazy childhood became very close to Smudge one of my other cats. Smudge is very shy but Kitty was very open and loving and allowed Smudge to shine despite her quietness. Yesterday for some unknown reason, kitty lay on the kitchen floor in seizure. I ll spare details but I ended up putting her to sleep as she was in renal failure.... Her kidney's ha… Continue

Hair Drawing!

This is what I do in the shower - I take my shedding hair, draw with it on the wall. When my shower is over I take a photo of the hair drawing - then I play with the image in photoshop and voila - hair art - perfect for this weeks challenge!!! I believe it is important to exercise your creative mind at every opportunity...stretch your imagination and break out of the box - draw with something that isn't a drawing material and see what happens!!! To read more about this go to my blog Amarettogirl    and see the post I wrote about playing with your hair!!! - Cheers! and Happy 4th!

spots

The challenge word on another illustration blog this week is "spots".
lady in red
Out, damned spot; out, I say. One, two,—why, then ’tis time to do’t. Hell is murky. Fie, my lord, fie, a soldier and afeard? What need we fear who knows it when none can call our power to account? Yet who would have thought the old man to have had so much blood in him?

These words are spoken by Lady Macbeth in Act V, scene 1 in Shakespeare's Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is sleepwalking through the castle. She is subconciously thinking and feeling guilty about being the driving force behind the murder of Duncan. After the murder, Macbeth believed his hand was irreversibly bloodstained, Lady Macbeth told him, “A little water clears us of this deed”. Now, she sees blood on her own hands. She is completely undone by guilt and descends into madness.
“What need we fear who knows it when none can call our power to account?” she asks, asserting that as long as her and her husband’s power is secure, the murders they committed cannot harm them. But her guilt-wracked state and her mounting madness show how hollow her words are. So, too, does the army outside her castle. “Hell is murky,” she says, implying that she already knows that darkness intimately. It is implied, although not directly stated, Lady Macbeth commits suicide.

Hairspray Anyone?!

The topic hair right away made me think of the 80's! Who could ignore the big hair and crazy perms! So this sketch is inspired from those times. Unfortunately i didn't have enough time to do a finished coloured version, but hope in later time to add that version to my blog!

I'm thinking hot pinks and neon greens! Thanks for looking.
